Healthy SF _HorizontalThe Healthy San Fernando! Campaign is a collaborative effort by the City of San Fernando, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, San Fernando Community Health, Valley Care Community Consortium, California State University at
Northridge, and Kaiser Permanente to increase public awareness of obesity-related diseases while educating the community on the prevention of such diseases through healthy eating and active living.


The City of San Fernando has taken the pledge to healthy eating and active living with the ultimate goal of becoming the healthiest city in the San Fernando Valley. Part of the citywide annual campaign includes City-sponsored events featuring innovative activities involving nutritional components or physical activities. 

The 2016 Healthy San Fernando! Campaign begins July 1, 2016 and ends November 5, 2016.

The San Fernando Partnership for Healthy Families and the City of San Fernando invite partners to support the Healthy San Fernando! Campaign. The goal of the campaign is to encourage families to eat healthy and be more physically active to prevent the risk of chronic diseases, including Diabetes. 

The 18-week campaign includes:

The goal of the campaign is to encourage families to eat healthy and be more physically active to prevent the risk of chronic diseases, including diabetes.

The 18-week campaign includes:

  • HEALTH PROMOTION:  Healthy social marketing efforts to approximately 45,000 residents of the Northeast San Fernando Valley
  • 5K RELAY RACE:  Scheduled for October 2016 and includes a 5K Run/Walk Relay Race, Tot Run, Health Fair, and Family Activity Course and Challenge.
  • COMMUNITY EVENTS: Targets approximately 6,000 families in the City of San Fernando.
  • FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES:  The campaign will provide local schools fundraising opportunities to support wellness initiatives./nz_il]
