From time to time, the City Council establishes City Standing Committees that explore new policies and programs, and develop recommendations to the full City Council. Each committee is comprised of two City Councilmembers.
Currently, the City Council has one (1) active standing committee, the California High Speed Rail Authority Standing Committee.
In addition, the City Council has previously established five (5) standing committees that are no longer active and include the following: Budget, Personnel and Finance; Education, Parks, Health, Youth and Aging; Housing, Community and Economic Development, and Parking; Natural Resources, Infrastructure, Water Energy and Waste Management; and, Public Safety , Veteran Affairs, Technology and Transportation.
